Slow    Down

"Hmmm? Oh sorry, Zac, my mom said something to me.....Yeah I heard you though.........Haha practice sounded funny.......What do you mean you wish I was sitting on your lap? You couldn't have been drumming then! I would....Yeah, ok....Zac, you're crazy.....Your welcome, Hon....Well, yeah, love you too......Ok Ok tell Taylor to hold his horses........Hey I didn't need to know THAT!...Yeah ok.....Ill see you tomorrow.... Yup, everything went ok....I Love you too....Miss you.....Bye," Dawn finished, handing the phone to her sister. "Taylor's on the phone now. Sorry. Zac was being a pain in the ass."

Ashley laughed. "Yeah, its ok, as long as I get to talk to him." She placed the receiver on her shoulder and walked into the bathroom and shut the door. "Tay?"

"Hey, baby. I missed you," was Taylor's statically reply.

"Ohhh. I missed you too. Dawn was such a pain in the ass. She claimed she was busy all these days and I wasn't allowed to call you unless she wanted to talk to Zac. That's stupid...after all me and you were together longer.....well you get the idea. How have you been? You do NOT know how much I missed you."

Taylor sighed. "Actually I can believe. I even had a dream about you last night."

Ashley's eyes widened. "Really?"

Taylor grinned. "Yeah," then dropping his voice into a whisper, "we were skinny dipping in the lake a few miles from here."

Ashley's mouth dropped open. "TAYLOR! Tsk tsk. Lets hope that's ALL that happened."

Taylor blushed. "Well,.....Not really.." He confessed. "You can figure out what....umm happened.....after that," he whispered, running his hand through his golden locks.

Ashley blushed. "Yeah I can figure.....At least you were having that dream instead of Zac. Dawn tells me he's always sweet talking her."

"Yeah. But Zac really likes her. That's just the way he is. I found his notebook. He wrote like 5 poems on her. That's almost half as much that I wrote about you. Want me to read a few to you? Or...sing them?"

Ashley could barely speak. "Yes," she said in a tiny whisper.

Taylor cleared his throat and began to sing, his voice matching the words perfectly. After he was finished he said "Well, what did you think.....Ash? Ash are you ok?"

Ashley wiped a tear from her eye. "Yes, Tay. That was beautiful. The prettiest thing I have ever heard." A sudden knock came on the door.

"ASH! C'mon! We're going out to dinner now!" Dawn yelled.

Ashley sighed. "I'm sorry Tay, but I have to go now. Dinner's calling."

Taylor smiled. "It's ok. I'll see you tomorrow. I love you."

Ashley grinned. "I love you too, Tay."

"DAWN! Babes!" Zac yelled as Dawn and Ashley approached the Hanson's household the next day. He ran up to her and wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug. "I missed you," he whispered.

Dawn hugged him back and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I missed you too, Zac. But you lived," she said, giggling.

Zac grinned. "Lets go to my room. I want to talk to you," he said, pulling her across the lawn into the house.

Ashley and Taylor stared at each other. "Oh, my Taylor," Ashley whispered, as Taylor's strong arms circled around her and held her in a tight embrace. She buried her face into his shoulder.

Taylor stroked her hair. "Well, our siblings beat us to my room. Want to go to the park?" he asked softly, showering her head with kisses.

Ashley pulled her head up and gave Taylor a long, lingering kiss. "Yes. I want to be with you." She grabbed his hand and began walking with him towards the park.

Meanwhile, Zac and Dawn were in the boys room watching TV. Zac leaned oevr to where Dawn was sitting next to him on his bed and placed his head on her lap. He sighed.

Dawn looked down and giggled. "Zac, you ok?" she whispered, playing with one of his golden locks. Zac looked up at her and smiled "Oh yeah," he whispered. He reached up and carefully pulled her head down and kissed her, his hands running through her light hair.

Dawn pulled away, gently removing his hands from her neck and sat up. Zac sat up and stared longingly into her eyes. "Can I lay on your stomach?" he asked.

Dawn smiled. "What do you mean?"

Zac smiled and leaned over. "Can I lay on your stomach? As in, can we lay down?"

Dawn looked at him. "Zac...... I told you we weren't going to do anything."

Zac put on his innocent look. "We're not. I just want to lay there...please?"

Dawn sighed. "Ok." Zac slid down and wrapped his arms around her waist before gently laying his head right above her belly button. He sighed.

Dawn glanced down worriedly. I shouldn't have let him do that...There's no telling what he'll pull. As if to respond, he began pulling up her baby tee and kissing her stomach. "Zac.."

Zac momentarily stopped. "Hmm?" He barely got out before resuming to his position. He moved his kisses lower on her stomach and let go of her waist.

"ZAC!" Dawn wasnt enjoying this at all.

Zac reluctantly pulled back and stared deep into her eyes. "Huh?" Dawn carefully pushed him off her and got up of the bed, straightening her shirt as she stood. "Hey!" he said, hurt. "What's a matter?" he asked, concerned.

Dawn stared back into his eyes. "Zac, we need to talk."

Zac sat, shocked. "What about?"

Dawn sat down on the bed again, taking a deep breath. "We need to slow down, Zac. We have been moving way too fast."

Zac stared. "Wait. You think we've been getting too...close? Too fast?" he asked, trying to clear his head.

Dawn nodded. "And its not just that. Who knows what would have happened if I would have let you continue."

Zac looked thoughtful. "Ok, I get it....But is there more then that? Have I been doing everything wrong?" he asked cautiously.

Dawn smiled. She leaned over and began rubbing the back of her hand against his cheek. She shook her head. "No, Zac. Not at all. If we were closer, together longer, I would have let you go as far as you wanted. But we need to slow down or we'll crash."

Zac nodded thoughtfully. "Ok. But you're not breaking up with me are you?"

Dawn laughed. "Hell no! I still care for you a lot. But..."

Zac grabbed her hands. "Hmmm? I can take it. After all, I just took that..Dawn, tell me," he pleaded.

Dawn took a deep breath. She closed her eyes. "Maybe we should cool down to where we could give other people a chance....You know, us just dating. Exploring other peoples lives."

She opened her eyes to find Zac had backed away, a very hurt expression on his face. "So you ARE breaking up with me..." he said slowly, shaking his head.

Dawns eyes grew huge. "ZAC! Its not that at all!"

Zac looked away, his eyes slowly filling with tears. "Yeah. Ok. I understand. Sure. Call me whenever." He shrugged. "I don't care."

It was Dawns turn to have a hurt expression on her face. "Ok....Zac I'm sorry. I still want to be with you...."

Zacs hurt turned to anger. "Still want to be with me? HAHA! Oh, then why don't you just stick with me then?? I'm not good enough for you? Is that it?" He yelled. He face turned from angry to concerned. "Dawn? I didn't mean to yell...."

Dawn shook her head. "Forget it. Bye." She took off out of the room, slamming the door behind her.
