Party    Time

"Hello?" Taylor said into the phone the next morning. He had just woke up when the phone rang.

"Yo, Tay! What's up?" said Taylor's friend Blake. Blake was on the football team for Tulsa. He was also a 9th grade student at Tulsa High School.

"Hey, you woke me up!" Taylor said, yawning. He glanced at his watch. "It's only ten-thirty!"

"Well, I had to call you now because I'm not going to be home later. You know Jeff Martin, right?" Blake asked.

"Yeah, I know him. He's on the football team, right?"

"Yup, that's him. Anyways he's having a party tonight, and I was invited to go," Blake replied.

"Cool. So why are you calling me?" Taylor asked sleepily. He yawned again.

Blake laughed. "Taylor! Earth to Taylor! He asked me to invite you and Ike, too. Why else would I be telling you?"

Taylor shook his head. "Sorry! I told you I wasn't awake yet! Sure, me and Ike will be there. What time does it start?" he asked.

"He said seven. Can Ike drive us there?"

"I guess, I'll talk to him and leave a message on your machine," Taylor said.

"Cool. Well, I have to go. My mom is making me going shopping with her. Something about early sales." Blake rolled his eyes.

Taylor laughed. "OK, I better let ya go. Bye!" "Bye Tay. Don't forget to ask!"

"Wow, Taylor's actually up early this morning," Ike said as Taylor walked into the kitchen, where all of his brothers and sisters were having breakfast. "What woke you up?"

"Ha ha. Shut up. I was on the phone with Blake. He called me and asked if me and you wanted to go to Jeff Martins party tonight," Taylor grinned, sitting down at the table.

"Ooooooooooh a party! Can I go?" Zac interrupted.

Taylor rolled his eyes. "No, Zac, you weren't invited. Sorry, bro."

Zac pouted and wandered off, in search of his legos.

"A party, huh? Sure, why not?" Isaac said. "Wait, let me guess, you're gonna ask me to drive."

Taylor rolled his eyes. "Yup, I was gonna ask if you could drive me and Blake and maybe a few other people. Please?" He gave Isaac the sad puppy face.

"Fine, I knew i was going to end up driving you somewhere! What time does it start?" Ike asked.

"Seven o'clock. At Jeff Martin's house."

Ike grinned. "Ok, fine with me. But in the mean time we got to get ready for that interview. Or have you forgotten, sleepy boy?"

Taylor play-shoved Isaac. "Nah, I didn't forget, Sherlock. Let me go get ready." He walked back upstairs and called Blake back, then got ready for that crappy interview with Urban magazine.

Taylor rang the doorbell to Blake's house later that night. It was about a quarter to seven, and he and Isaac were ready to go to the party. The interview had gone fine, except for the fact that the airhead asking them questions had no clue what she was talking about.

Blake came to the door. "Yo, man, ya ready?" Taylor asked. "Ike's out in the car."

"Yeah I'm ready. Mike and Tiffany are here with me." Blake replied.

"Okay."

They walked to the car and drove to Jeff's house for the party.

The party was in full blast when they got there. Food, people, dancing.

"Oohh Taylor I see some girls over there, c'mon!" Blake said, his eyes glued to a small cluster of girls dancing near the center of the dance floor.

Taylor looked at Isaac.

Isaac shrugged. "Go ahead, Romeos, I see Michelle over by the DJ." He grinned and wiggled his eyebrows as he made his way over to the DJ station.

Taylor laughed as Blake pulled him over to the girls. "Hay ladies," Blake said grinning.

One of them smiled flirtatiously at Blake. She had short blond hair right above her shoulder. "Hey there. Wanna dance?" she asked.

"Sure," was Blake's obvious answer as he and the girl went off.

A pretty red haired girl had made her way over to Taylor. "Hi," she said shyly. "My names Coleen. Wanna dance?"

Taylor shrugged. "Okay, Coleen. My name's Taylor."

She smiled. "Hi Taylor." She led him on to the side of the room and began dancing.

At first Taylor felt self-conscious, but soon he was dancing as wild as she was. Finally a slow song came on. They stopped, catching their breath. "Do you want to dance to this one?" Taylor asked, panting slightly.

"Okay," Coleen replied. She put her arms around his neck and began to sway to the music.

Taylor felt her heart pounding slightly against his chest. He drew in a deep breath and looked around. He grinned when he seen Isaac dancing near the DJ station with a girl that was obviously Michelle. Lost in his own thoughts, he didn't realize that Coleen was nibbling on his ear. He jumped back with surprise.

"Shhhh its alright," Coleen said, putting her arms around his shoulders again. She began kissing his neck. I haven't even known this girl for a half hour! Taylor thought. And she's already hitting on me!

She began to deepen her kisses, making there way up to his mouth.

Taylor felt his heart jump when she slid her tongue inside his mouth. What about Ashley? he thought.

Coleen pulled away when the song ended. She smiled. "There, that wasn't so bad was it?" she asked. She stopped when she seen the look on his face. "Um, you don't have a girlfriend, do you?"

Taylor's face got redder. "Um, yeah sorry. She's not here so don't worry about it," he lied.

She nodded, blushing with embarrassment. "I see. Sorry about that. Do you still want to dance? I'm here by myself so.."

He was about to nod his head yes when he seen a girl with familiar brown hair dancing near by with her friends. He stood rooted to the floor, staring at her. "Sorry, not now. Maybe later." he finally said.

"Alright, bye, I see one of my friends anyway." Coleen said, kissing him on the cheek then walking away.

Taylor stared after her. If Ashley seen any of that... He rubbed his hands on his pants and began walking over to her.
