Missing

Ashley peered through the darkness and saw Taylor was already waiting for her at the stop sign as she drew closer. He was sitting on the curb side tearing a piece of grass into little shreds and tapping his feet impatiently. "Sorry that took so long. How long have you been waiting?"

Taylor stood up as she came to him and shrugged. "Not long. About five minutes." He reached over and pulled her into a tight hug. They stayed in that position for what seemed like forever, but in actuality, only two minutes. Finally Taylor pulled back and smiled at her. "So where do you want to go?"

Ashley pulled her windbreaker around her tighter and shrugged. "Anywhere that's not here."

Taylor smiled again. "Okay." Taking her hand, they began to walk down the dark streets.

"Hmm. Taylor left. I wonder where he went..." Zac pondered to more to himself than Dawn.

"Ashley's gone, too. So where ever they are, they're most likely together doing something before we leave tomorrow." Dawn inquired.

"That's a little more than I needed to know." Zac said flatly.

"Zac! You are such a perv! I didn't mean it like that!"

Taylor and Ashley found themselves back in the Hanson's treehouse. Taylor climbed up first then helped Ashley up.

As soon as they were in the treehouse, Ashley leaned back against the wall and let out a deep sigh.

"You okay?" Taylor asked. "I mean considering." he added when he saw the look on her face. He walked up to her and rubbed her arms with his hand to keep her warm, even though she had a jacket on.

Ashley gave him a weak smile. She reached up and kissed him lightly, and took both of his hands into her own. "Thank you, Tay."

He gave her a confused look. "For what?"

"For just being there for me. And last night when you wanted to--"

Taylor groaned at the memory.

"--you know. And I told you no. Most guys would have done it anyway, or talk me into it, or dump me or something."

He looked at her thoughtfully. "I'm not going to rush you into something you don't want to do yet, Ash. That's not how I am. I'm ready when you are." he gave her a reassuring smile.

Ashley smiled back at him and leaned up and kissed him again. They sat down on one of the bean bag chairs together, Ashley on Taylor's lap.

"Tay?"

"Hmm?"

"I feel kind of dumb for asking you this, but, um, would you sing for me?" she asked shyly as she played with a strand of Taylor's hair.

Taylor gave a little laugh. "Sure."

Ashley leaned against him as he quietly began the first measure of "With You In Your Dreams."

Soon, his soulful voice had put her to sleep.

"Zac, Ashley's still not home. Has Taylor? It's late." Dawn stated, starting to panic.

"Nope. He's not back either. Maybe we should go look for them."

"All right. My parents are in bed already. Meet me at the bus stop in ten minutes."

"Aye, aye Cap'n!" he said and hung up the phone.

Ten minutes later Zac and Dawn were out searching in vain for their siblings.

"Where could they be?" Dawn demanded, growing more impatant and scared by each passing minute. She hated being out late at night. But being with Zac and knowing he was beside her comforted her somewhat.

Zac shrugged. "I don't know. But I just realized I left my other flash light in the treehouse and this one is about to die on us." he pondered the flickering flash light on the palm of his hand.

Oppropitate words there good buddy. Dawn thought sarcastically. She grabbed his hand and pulled him in the direction of his treehouse. "Well, let's go get it."

When they reached Zac's backyard, Zac held her hand tighter and walked her to the latter. "Do you want to come up or wait here?" he asked.

Dawn contemplated on this for a moment. "I'll come. But you better not try anything Zachary Walker Hanson." she said sternly.

"Oooh. I love it when you call me by my full name. It sounds sexy."

Dawn pinched his shoulder.

"OW! That hurt." He said, pouting and rubbing his sore shoulder.

"You better not try anything Zac." she warned again.

He wiggled his eyebrows. "I'm not making any promises." and began to walk up the latter, with Dawn right behind him.

Zac found his extra flash light and turned it on...and was shocked at what he saw.

"Oh my God. I think we found them." Dawn whispered.

Ashley and Taylor were sitting in a bean bag chair, sleeping in each other arms.

"Oh gag me." Zac muttered.

On impulse, Dawn wrapped her arms around Zac's shoulders and kissed him. "So you're not into the yucky love stuff are you?" through the darkness, she could see a smile form on his lips.

"Not when it has to do with your sister and my brother." he whispered before pressing his lips to hers again.

They continues to kiss, when they heard laughing. They broke apart quickly.

"Well, well, well. Little brother is sneaking out of the house, past midnight, to make out with his girlfriend in our treehouse." Taylor laughed and turned on a flash light.

"Well, I could say the same for you Tayles. I mean you were here with your girlfriend asleep in the treehouse. God knows what you did before we got here. Obviously something tiring because Ashley is still asleep." Zac laughed.

"Zac, we didn't do anything, so get over it." Taylor whispered, not wanting to wake Ashley. He ran his hand tenderly through her soft hair.

"Tay, just wake her up. We have to go before our parents wake up and realize we're gone." Dawn said impatiently.

Taylor sighed and leaned over and kissed her lightly on the top of her nose. "Ash, baby, wake up."

Ashley stirred but didn't wake up. She let out a soft moan in her sleep.

Dawn rolled her eyes. "Just shake her and wake her up."

Taylor shook his head. "Ash? Wake up." this time he was successful.

"Hmm?" she sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. "Dawn? What are you doing here?

"Looking for you genius" she answered. She grabbed her sisters hand and pulled her off of Taylor. "Now come on. We have to finish packing."

They kissed their boyfriend goodbye with promises to call when they got there, then they made their way home.
