Left    Behind

Taylor took Ashley's hand between his. He looked into her eyes and noticed something. When he had looked into her eyes at the party, her eyes had been blue. But as he looked into them now, he saw they were green! Maybe it was the lighting, or maybe she wears contacts. he thought. Taylor leaned over and kissed her forehead gently. He was about to wrap his arms around her, but was interrupted by the shouts of Kelley Miller.

"Kay guys! C'mon!"

Ashley looked over to Taylor and smiled. She lightly brushed her lips against his cheek and took her hand from his.

Taylor pouted, causing Ashley to laugh. "Oh you big baby. I'll be back."

Taylor smiled and watched her walk steadily down the bleachers.

After practice, Taylor waited for Ashley outside of the locker room. He waited for five minutes and had decided he was thirsty. He walked to the water fountain. He jumped slightly when someone tapped him on the shoulder. He spun around to find himself face-to-face with Ashley.

She smiled shyly at him. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, Tay."

Taylor looked her up and down. She had changed into her street clothes. Short blue jeans shorts and a short red shirt that cut off just above her waist. I hope she wears that to Pizza Hut! "It's okay. You didn't scare me. You just surprised me a little."

Ashley smiled again. "Okay."

Taylor "casually" put his arm around her waist and pulled her to him.

She kissed his cheek. She smiled, blushing and looked at the floor.

He lifted her chin so he could look her in the eye. Taylor then brought his face to hers and kissed her lightly on the lips. They stood there, staring at each other.

Ashley reached up and kissed him again softly.

Taylor's arm was still around her waist.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, playing with the ends of his long blonde hair, twisting it around her slender fingers.

He smiled down at her. "You're short."

She starred at him, her mouth open in surprise and playfully swatted his arm. "Hush. I can't help it," she pouted and pretended to be hurt by the comment, her lower lip stuck out as if she was about to cry.

"Aww, I'm sorry. I was just kidding," he pressed his forehead to hers. Taylor heard Isaac call his name, but he pretended not to notice and kissed Ashley again.

"Taylor!"

He continued to ignore his brother as he kissed her.

Isaac called to him again. Ashley tried to say something but her words were muffled by Taylor's lips. She lightly pushed his chest.

"What's the matter?" he asked.

Ashley laughed. "Your brothers are about to leave you."

Taylor looked around and saw his brothers climbing into the van. "Whoa! Okay. Sorry, I think I better go," he kissed her forehead and ran off to join his brothers in the van.
